Jedi eats too much candy and pukes - pirate and dragon are okay

Tuesday, October 31st, 2006

Interesting Halloween this year (as you can probably tell from the title). Ian dressed up like a scary pirate and played the part well, showing off his innate acting abilities. Cole got to go out trick or treating for the first time this year. He seemed pretty excited to show off all of his loot when he got home. Nathan dressed as a Jedi and after using the force to find the best candy in the neighborhood he went to bed and later decided to share his candy with the hallway carpeting. As Cole would say “ewwwww yuck!”

Other than Nathan’s mishap, we’re all doing great! Just trying to keep warm as the temps have been getting down into the 20’s at night!

Photography filled weekend

Sunday, October 29th, 2006

Joshua and Kim, two very close friends of ours, recently adopted two children from Africa. Saturday morning they brought Sidney and Spencer over for photographs. I’m still busy at work on the editing phase, but here are two shots to tide you over until I can post the slideshow.

Here’s Sidney. Isn’t she the most adorable little girl you have ever seen?

And here is Spencer. He is all boy. Loves his cars, trucks and planes. He’s going to be 2 next month.

Erin and I had the opportunity to spend the evening with Sonia and Ziad at Discovery Park in Seattle to photograph their engagement. It never ceases to amaze me how small of a world we live in. It turns out Sonia is from Ohio, where both Erin and I grew up and Ziad is a Microsoftee, so we had so much in common out of the gate.

Sonia and Ziad are both such naturals in front of the camera. She is going to make a beautiful bride! Normally, we try to capture 30-40 good photos for an engagement shoot, but yesterday was unbelievable weather and when you couple that with a great location and photogenic subjects, well, we tripled it and came out with 114 images that we are proud of. Erin and I had a blast editing them and putting them together in the slide show (click on the photo below to view the show!).

Send your best wishes for Sonia and Ziad’s April 2007 wedding in Miami!

Nathan’s Pumpkin Carving Party at School

Thursday, October 26th, 2006

Tonight was Nathan’s turn to invite us to his school for pumpkin carving, songs and a pumpkin lighting. You can actually click on the picture above for a slide show. I know it’s been a while ;-)
We’re all doing well and wish time would slow down a little bit. It’s going to be New Year’s before we know it!

Pumpkin Carving at Ian’s Preschool

Tuesday, October 24th, 2006

Last night we visited Ian’s preschool where he carved a pumpkin and then together with his classmates, they sang songs and did their ceremonial lighting of the pumpkins. Seems like yesterday when we were there on behalf of Nathan.

I love this shot of Ian that I took just as we arrived at his school.

Nathan’s 7 years old!

Nathan turned 7 yesterday on Friday the 13th ;-) This year, he had several friends over for ice cream, XBox and fun and games in the back yard. The bonus was that it all happened in the middle of the afternoon since Nathan didn’t have school Friday, so everything was back to normal by the time I got home from work.

We had another mini-celebration with Amanda, and Cookie Gramma when I got home. I’m still hanging on to the virus that put me out of commission all of last week. Hope to be back to normal soon!
